    Disclaimer

    Plain-English medical and legal disclaimer.

WellSip is an independent consumer guide — not a doctor, not a lawyer, not your dispensary. Here's exactly what we are, what we aren't, and what you should do before you sip.

    Last reviewed: May 1, 2026

Read this first. If you take prescription medication, have a health condition, are pregnant or nursing, or have a personal or family history of substance use disorder — talk to a qualified healthcare provider before consuming any THC product, hemp-derived or otherwise.

    The three big ones

    Not medical advice.

Editorial content on WellSip is for general information only. It is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, or advice from a qualified healthcare provider. Don't change a medication, supplement, or treatment plan based on anything you read here.

    Not legal advice.

Our state legality coverage is editorial summary, not legal counsel. Cannabis and hemp law changes constantly. Confirm current rules in your jurisdiction before purchasing, traveling with, or shipping THC products.

    Adults 21+ only.

All content assumes a reader who is at least 21 years old in a jurisdiction where hemp-derived THC beverages are legal to buy and consume. Nothing on this site is intended for minors, and we do not market to anyone under 21.

    About the products we cover

WellSip primarily covers hemp-derived Delta-9 THC beverages made under the 2018 Farm Bill — meaning the finished product contains no more than 0.3% THC by dry weight. Federal legality of hemp-derived cannabinoids does not preempt state law, and several states restrict or prohibit these drinks regardless of federal status. Always confirm current rules using our state legality guide and your state's most recent published statute.

    Specific health considerations

    • Driving and machinery: Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything that requires sober judgment after consuming THC. THC drinks can impair you for several hours after the buzz feels gone.
    • Mixing with alcohol: Mixing THC and alcohol can amplify both. We don't recommend it, and we don't cover products that encourage it.
    • Medication interactions: THC and CBD can interact with several common medications, including blood thinners and some antidepressants. Ask a pharmacist or prescriber before mixing.
    • Mental health: If you have a personal or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder, consult a mental health professional before consuming THC in any form.
    • Pregnancy and nursing: Public health agencies recommend avoiding cannabis entirely during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We agree.

    Drug testing

Hemp-derived Delta-9 THC drinks can absolutely cause a positive result on a standard workplace drug test. If your job, sport, or custody arrangement subjects you to testing, assume any THC product — including those sold as "federally legal" — is a risk. See our drug test guide for specifics.

    No warranty

    How we keep this current
