The short version
We exist to help adults 21+ make calm, well-informed decisions about a category the legacy press still hasn't figured out how to cover. That means we pick our products carefully, source our claims honestly, label our commercial relationships clearly, and update everything when the world moves on.
The six pillars
Independence over influence
Brands don't pay to be ranked, recommended, or reviewed. Editorial decisions are made by writers and editors — never by the affiliate or partnerships team.
Hands-on testing, every product
Every drink we recommend is bought, opened, and tasted by a human editor. We don't summarize Amazon reviews and call it journalism.
Sourced and cited
Health, dosing, and legality claims link to primary sources — peer-reviewed research, the 2018 Farm Bill text, FDA guidance, or the actual state statute.
Real people, real names
Every article carries a byline. Authors have public bios, credentials where applicable, and a way to reach them with corrections.
Health-adjacent, never medical
We don't make therapeutic claims, promise outcomes, or position THC as a medication. Where physiology shows up, a clinician reviews it.
Updated when reality changes
Laws, products, and prices move fast. Every commercial and legal page is reviewed at least every 90 days — and the review date is stamped on the page.
What we do and what we won't
- •Bought and personally tested every product we rank in a 'best of' list
- •Disclose affiliate relationships clearly, every time
- •Reject sponsored placements that try to influence rankings or scores
- •Cite the actual law, study, or COA — not just another blog
- •Correct errors publicly and date the correction
- •Sell ranked positions, sponsored 'best of' slots, or guaranteed coverage
- •Accept gifted product on the condition of a positive review
- •Use AI-generated content as a finished article — only as a research aid edited by humans
- •Make medical, therapeutic, or weight-loss claims about THC drinks
- •Cover products from brands that won't share lab results (COAs)
Sourcing
Every legal, medical, or scientific claim links to a primary source: the 2018 Farm Bill, an FDA letter, a state statute, a peer-reviewed study, or the brand's own Certificate of Analysis. Where a claim is opinion or editorial judgment ("this tastes the most like a real cocktail"), we say so plainly.
Conflicts of interest
WellSip earns money from affiliate commissions and on-site advertising. Affiliate revenue is sandboxed from the editorial team. Writers don't see commission rates when picking products, and brands cannot pay to be added to a ranking. Read the full medical and legal disclaimer and our testing methodology.
AI policy
We use AI tools the same way we use a search engine or a calculator — to gather, sort, and double-check information. We do not publish AI-written articles. Every page on this site is structured, written, edited, and signed off by a human.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, email editors@wellsipguide.com. We update the article, add a dated note explaining the change, and (if the change is material) say so at the top of the page.
Affiliate disclosure
Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on WellSip are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you choose to make a purchase—at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products that align with our mission of thoughtful, low-stress, and responsible sipping. Ratings and reviews are always independent and based on real experience, not sponsorship.
